As is it declared in directive 31/2010,“on the energy performance of buildings”, public buildings to be built after 31 December 2018, and all new buildings to be built by 31 December 2020 will need to have nearly zero-energy buildings.

Our main objective is to find a joint answer to the directive by exchanging experiences and increasing the level of the institutional cooperation. Slovakia and Hungary has the very similar problems and challenges according to the energy politics and the real estate market, so we can define it as a joint challenge, to fit to this obligatory directive. However there is no significant transnational cooperation neither in nearly zero energy buildings, nor in e-mobility – neither in public sector, nor among people.

In order to reach our aims we implement a project with activities which not only built on each other, but they are complementary as well.

We create 1 joint action plan which will be made available for the decision makers in both countries. On the results we work out an education material. Moreover we do 2 executional plans: 1 for new building and one doing a renovation. As it is very important to share the information, we do a campaign with several pillars. We do a Facebook campaign, implement a website, establish an information point. We will cover both institutions and public by reaching schools (10-10), public institutions (10-10) and do training for professionals (6), publishing our own magazine (8).

These serves to reach the pubic instituions and inhabitants of the programme area and spread the information on the importance of energy efficiency.

Both partners will extend their knowledge with another national approach, and by exchange of experiences a developed information package can be shared in the border region which can be used in the daily work as it will be obligatory up to 2019-2020. The impact of international flavour of this project would give the higher visibility that is very much needed for energy efficiency.
